Give your budding artists the chance to achieve their artistic potential. Your children will not only have the opportunity to make their own art mess, they will get to play, explore, and discover the true meaning of cultivating creativity. Flash Bugs Studio is located in the enchanted forest environment of Palos Park. We operate the studio out of our home garage where we try to achieve a neighborhood cozy feel. Students will love the opportunity to not only to create masterpieces but create long lasting relationships with peers in their community.

Your child will explore and discover new artists and new materials to make their own masterpieces. They will investigate painting, collage, printmaking, and sculpture. Further, they will also learn to talk about their artwork and their unique creative process. At the end of each art session, your child will walk away with one framed piece of artwork, and a beautifully packaged bag filled with their masterpieces. All art materials are provided in class. Parents should expect to drop off their child for this class.

This isn’t your grandmother’s craft class. Each week your child will explore various hip and cool elements of fabric arts, book arts, and paper crafts. They will apply simple sewing techniques, embroidery, quilting, painting on fabric, etc to create unique and one of a kind masterpieces. If you have a craft child, this is the class for them! All materials are provided for your child. Parents should expect to drop off their child for this class.

I am an artist, teacher, and photographer living and working in Palos Park, Illinois, my artistic journey has culminated into Flash Bugs Studio, an inspirational art space for children designed foster a true love of art and expression. In an inspired space filled with music and happy buzzing children, I love to encourage children to use their hands and hearts to create art sourced from their own creativity. As they explore and manipulate materials, build skills, find their own errors and envision their own solutions, the child’s inner artist emerges. Whether painting, cutting, building or drawing, kids use their own genuine creativity to make art that is genuine to them.

Mega Masters is an art class for older elementary school children who love creativity, but need guidance to take their artwork to the next level. In this class we will explore various drawing and painting techniques such as shading, gesture drawing, and mixing paint tints and shades. All of these techniques will be applied into a daily sketchbook and to their masterpieces where they will gain a deeper understanding of the principles and elements of art. Your child will walk away with a renewed sense of confidence about their creativity. At the end of this session, your child will walk away with a framed piece of artwork and a beautifully packaged bag filled with their masterpieces. All art materials are provided in class. Parents should expect to drop off their child for this class.
